Fabiano Merlante, was born in Adria where he got his diploma obtaining full marks both at the Liceo school and at the State Conservatory  “Antonio Buzzolla” studying the guitar under the direction of Michelangelo Severi; he took an Academy Degree of second level in “Musica da Camera” at the Conservatory “G. Frescobaldi” in Ferrara, getting the highest marks and “laude”. He has been awarded several prizes at national and international contests and has attended graduate courses run by R. Chiesa, J. Bream, M. Barrueco, D. Russell. He gives concerts in Italy and abroad as a guest of Italian and foreign orchestras, besides carrying out Telerecordings. He has made recordings for the RAI, for the Mediaset Networks and also several compact-disc for Ariston, M.A.P., Niccolò, Rainbow and Tactus. He also works with the recycling of the nineteenth-century collection as a researcher of unpublished music and as a reviser, working for important Italian publishing houses and giving concerts by means of the reproduction of several early romantic guitars, by archlute, theorbo and baroque guitar. He also takes an active part in the contemporary circle working together with several composers to the composition, the revision and the fingering of guitar music. Now is Professor of guitar at the Scuola Media Statale “T. Tasso - M.M. Boiardo” in Ferrara, and like assistant at the State Conservatory “G. Frescobaldi” in Ferrara; he studies ancient plucked instrument at the Conservatory “B. Marcello” in Venice, under the direction of Tiziano Bagnati.
